Leather barefoot shoes: calf leather, suede and nubuck

All shoes in this collection use genuine leather, and the finish changes the character of a pair. Calf leather has a smooth, even surface that suits oxfords and Chelsea boots. Suede has a soft, brushed surface, and nubuck is finely sanded on the outer side for a velvety nap. A few pairs use napa leather or woven leather. Compare finishes in suede barefoot shoes and nubuck shoes.

How the leather is made

The leather is vegetable-tanned, with no chrome used in tanning. Pairs are cut and sewn in workshops in Gaziantep and Istanbul, founded in 2018 by makers from a family with four generations of shoemaking craft, and each pair is made to order.

Most pairs sit below the ankle, from lace-ups and loafers to boots and slippers. Start with men's barefoot shoes or women's barefoot shoes, or go back to the full barefoot shoes range. For material background read calf versus buffalo leather, and for upkeep see how to care for leather shoes.
