About Women Leather Barefoot Sandals & Ballets

Women's Sandals — Hand-Stitched Calf Leather for Warm Weather

Bespoky women's sandals are hand-stitched in Gaziantep, Turkey, by 4th-generation Anatolian artisans. Since 2018, partnering with these workshops, we have built a collection of 27+ sandal styles — slide-on, ankle-strap, T-bar and woven Anatolian pairs. Every pair uses vegetable-tanned calf leather upper, an anatomical wide toe box, and 3-4mm flexible TR rubber sole. Starting at $96, these are hand-stitched leather sandals at the price of synthetic Vivobarefoot, Lems or Bedrock pairs.

Whether you want a hot-weather staple, a packable travel sandal, or a barefoot pair for summer city walking, this is the place. Browse all 70 women's sandals & ballets or jump into a specific silhouette below.

How to Choose Your Women's Sandals

For Hot Summers

Choose an open slide-on or T-bar pair in light calf leather — sand, cream, tan. Maximum breathability for 30°C+ days. Pair with linen dresses, denim shorts, or wide-leg trousers.

For Travel

Slide-on sandals pack flat in a suitcase, transition from beach to dinner, no laces to fuss with. Customers travel for weeks in a single pair.

For City Walking

Ankle-strap sandals add stability for cobblestones and long city walks. The strap holds the foot in place during 5-10 km days. Pair with midi skirts or cropped trousers.

Why Calf Leather, Not Buffalo

Calf hide is thinner (1.4-1.8mm vs 2.5-3.5mm buffalo), softer, and breathes better in summer heat. Calf molds to your foot in days and develops a richer patina. Read our calf vs buffalo comparison.

Hand-Stitched in Gaziantep — Since 2018

Materials & Construction

Each pair starts as vegetable-tanned calf hide from our 4th-gen tannery partner in Gaziantep. The hide is cut by hand, then stitched with waxed linen thread to a flexible sole. A pair takes 4-8 hours of hand-work — sandals require less material than full shoes but the same precise leather work.

Care Guide

Wipe with a soft dry cloth after each wear. Every 4-6 weeks, condition with neutral leather balm. Sandals develop patina quickly with sun exposure — embrace it. Avoid prolonged salt water. Air-dry away from heat. Full guide in our leather care guide.

Customer Questions (FAQ)

Beach safe?

Brief sand exposure is fine. Avoid prolonged salt water — it dries the leather. Rinse with fresh water and air-dry if exposed.

Good for wide feet?

Yes — anatomical wide toe box. Most customers fit standard EU size. If between, size up half a size. 30-day returns.

How is the arch support?

Flat, zero-drop sole — same barefoot construction as our shoes. No raised arch. Transition gradually if coming from arch-supported sandals.

How long do they last?

5-8 years with care. Sole can be re-glued by a cobbler when worn through.

Can I wear them with socks?

Strap sandals and T-bar pairs aren't designed for socks. Slide-ons can work with low-profile cotton socks in cooler weather.

Why Turkish calf leather, not buffalo?

Calf is softer, breathable, develops a finer patina. Buffalo is too heavy for sandals.

How long does shipping take?

Made-to-order ships in 7-10 business days. DHL Express international 3-5 business days. 30-day returns.
