Men Barefoot Yemeni Shoe
Men's Barefoot Yemeni Shoes — 1,000 Years of Anatolian Heritage
Bespoky men's barefoot Yemeni shoes are hand-stitched in Gaziantep, Turkey, by 4th-generation Anatolian artisans. Since 2018, partnering with these workshops, we have built a collection of 40+ Yemeni styles — the classic Turkish slip-on with a 1,000-year heritage, reborn with an anatomical wide toe box and zero drop sole. Every pair uses vegetable-tanned calf leather upper and 4mm flexible TR rubber sole. Starting at $96, this is heritage footwear at the price of synthetic Vivobarefoot or Lems slip-ons.
Whether you want a packable travel slip-on, a barefoot shoe for hot summers, or a piece of Anatolian leather history, this is the place. Browse all 848 men's styles or jump into a specific silhouette below.
How to Choose Your Men's Yemeni Shoes
For Hot Summers
Yemeni shoes were originally built for hot Anatolian summers — the breathable calf upper and minimal construction let feet stay cool in 35°C+ days. Choose lighter colors like sand, tan or olive for the hottest months.
For Travel
Yemeni slip-ons pack flat in a suitcase — no laces, no metal hardware. Customers travel for weeks in a single pair, pairing with linen trousers, chinos, or shorts.
For Daily Wear
For everyday wear, choose a smooth calf pair in a versatile color like dark brown, black or burgundy. Pairs equally with denim, chinos, or relaxed wool trousers.

Why Calf Leather, Not Buffalo
Calf hide is thinner (1.4-1.8mm vs 2.5-3.5mm buffalo), softer, and breathes better in summer heat — critical for hot-weather Yemeni shoes. Read our calf vs buffalo comparison.
Hand-Stitched in Gaziantep — Since 2018
Materials & Construction
Yemeni shoes have been hand-stitched in Anatolia for over 1,000 years. Our pairs follow the same construction — a flat calf hide upper gathered and stitched to a flexible sole, no laces, no metal. Each pair takes 6-10 hours of hand-work in our 4th-gen Gaziantep workshop.
Care Guide
Wipe with a soft dry cloth after each wear. Every 6-8 weeks, condition with a neutral leather balm. Yemeni shoes develop a beautiful patina — do not over-condition. For suede pairs, soft brush only. Full guide in our leather care guide.
Customer Questions (FAQ)
Are Yemeni shoes good for hot weather?
Yes — they were designed for it. Natural calf leather breathes; the minimal upper lets air circulate. A summer staple for customers across the Mediterranean and Middle East.
How is the sizing?
True to size with generous wide toe box. Most customers fit standard EU size. Yemeni leather stretches slightly with wear, so size down if between.
Can I wear them with socks?
Yes — thin cotton or wool socks pair well in spring/autumn. Summer, most customers wear sockless.
Are they good for wide feet?
Excellent — the Yemeni last has the widest toe box in our men's catalog. 30-day returns if not.
How long do they last?
5-8 years with care. Sole can be re-glued or replaced by a cobbler when worn through.
Beach safe?
Brief sand exposure is fine — avoid salt water. Rinse and air-dry if exposed.
Why Turkish calf leather, not buffalo?
Calf is softer, more breathable, develops a finer patina. Buffalo is too heavy for a summer slip-on.
How long does shipping take?
Made-to-order ships in 7-10 business days from Gaziantep. DHL Express international 3-5 business days. 30-day returns worldwide.
